Today we are talking video ads, which are basically the life of the party! Whether your goal is to make people laugh, cry, or hit that “buy now” button, video ads are your go-to tool. But with so many different ways to approach it, how do you know which one’s the best fit for your organization? And more importantly, how do you make sure your ad delivers on your goals? Let’s dive into the main types of video ads and a few pro tips to make sure yours are total showstoppers!
This Week's Focus:
Video Advertising
We have collaborated with Goodwill-Easter Seals of Minnesota on a number of commercials that have run as streaming ads, online ads, and in-store. The key to success with these ads is a funny hook that has a strong connection to the core message. This Halloween ad that we produced in 2022 was used at other locations across the country and continues to be used now, for the 3rd year in a row. Our team developed creative and delivered the final ad in a matter of weeks, at a fraction of what it would cost to produce this through a traditional marketing agency. Contact us today to explore ideas that could drive big results for your organization!
Hang Time Board Shop launched a new one-of-a-kind product for the fingerboarding community (yes, you read that right). We created this video ad which created immediate excitement on Instagram, with comments like "Amazing ad! Makes me want 4!" and "absolute goat commercial."
Types of Video Ads
Keys to Effective Execution Across All Formats
Know Your Audience: Tailor your messaging and creative approach based on a deep understanding of your target audience’s preferences, behaviors, and pain points.
Quality Over Quantity: Invest in high-quality production that reflects your brand’s professionalism and attention to detail. Poorly produced videos can harm brand perception (sadly, we see this a lot with local businesses who have a "free" ad created by the local tv station).
Optimization for Platforms: Customize video ads for different platforms. Consider each platform's unique user experience and format requirements, ensuring the video is optimized for mobile viewing.
Test and Iterate: Leverage A/B testing to refine your video ads. Experiment with different creatives, lengths, and calls to action, and use analytics to inform adjustments for better performance.
Clear Call to Action: Every video ad should have a clear and compelling call to action. Whether it’s visiting a website, making a purchase, or signing up for more information, the next step should be obvious and easy for viewers to take.
